Reproductive Assistance, Inc. (RAI) is a for-profit egg donation and gestational surrogacy agency based in the Greater Cincinnati area of Ohio, with a presence in Texas as well. The business began in 2002 and was incorporated the following year; it remains an active corporation, and Better Business Bureau records list Lisa Henkel as its owner. The agency appears to be a small, owner-involved operation rather than a large national organization.
According to its website, RAI works with intended parents, surrogates and egg donors across the United States and internationally, with a particular focus on the Midwest — Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana — alongside its Texas activity. The agency says it serves LGBTQ+ intended parents, single parents and clients coming from outside the United States.
RAI describes itself as a full-service agency, meaning it coordinates the surrogacy journey rather than handling only one piece of it: recruiting and screening surrogates, matching them with intended parents, and supporting both sides through the medical, legal and financial steps that follow. Because the agency runs an egg donor program in addition to gestational surrogacy, intended parents who need donor eggs can work with the same organization for both parts of the process.
The agency is an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau, accredited since August 2021. Its own marketing materials are the source for most of what it publishes about program details and policies.
