About Carrying Hope, A Surrogacy Agency

Carrying Hope, A Surrogacy Agency, is the trade name of Carrying Hope Surrogacy, LLC, a for-profit, full-service surrogacy agency based in Brevard, in Western North Carolina. It is a small, owner-operated organization with a team of roughly half a dozen people, including the founders.

The agency says it was founded by two women who had themselves served as gestational carriers, and it describes its approach as ethical, transparent, and balanced between the carrier and intended-parent sides of a match. Its current website presents the agency as built by someone who has been through a surrogacy journey personally.

Carrying Hope matches intended parents with gestational carriers and stays involved through the journey, providing case management and ongoing support from application through delivery. The agency works with LGBTQ+ intended parents. Funds for a journey are held through SeedTrust, a third-party escrow provider.

The agency is listed in the professional directory of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, an affiliation it also claims on its own materials, and it appears as a provider in the Men Having Babies Surrogacy Advisor directory. Its public Facebook page has a following of several thousand.

Among the surrogate reviews that are publicly available, several describe feeling supported by staff over the course of their journey, from application onward. Eligibility requirements, compensation and fee details, and any licensing and accreditation records on file appear below.

Recent ownership change: Third-party listings (MHB, SurrogacyNetwork, Expecting.ai) and a Jan 2024 podcast describe two co-founders, Nicole and Charlene, both former gestational carriers. The agency's current About Us page still says the LLC 'was founded ... by two women' but now describes the agency as 'built by someone who has walked this journey personally' and profiles only Charlene; D&B lists Charlene Kuspa as the sole key principal. This points to co-founder Nicole no longer being involved. Not confirmed against a NC Secretary of State filing or any announcement - inferred from the site rewrite plus D&B principal data, so flagged for human verification.

AI summary of 40 reviews · can make mistakes

Reviewers, both intended parents and surrogates, overwhelmingly describe a warm, hands-on agency with a small, caring team that stays closely involved from application through delivery and beyond. Many highlight thoughtful, careful matching and responsive communication, and several surrogates say they plan or have completed repeat journeys with the agency. Feedback is not universal, though: a couple of reviewers were strongly negative without giving specific reasons.

I cannot recommend Carrying Hope Surrogacy enough! From beginning to end, my experience was absolutely amazing. The entire team made what can sometimes be a long and tedious process—filled with paperwork, requirements, appointments, and milestones—feel so much easier through their gentle, clear, and supportive communication. One of the things I appreciated most was the care they took in matching me with intended parents. The match was truly perfect, and I am so grateful for the relationship that was built throughout this journey. A special thank you to Amanda, my surrogate advocate, who went above and beyond every step of the way. She was incredibly patient, encouraging, and always made sure I was doing well before, during, and after the pregnancy. I never felt alone because she was always there to answer questions, check in, and offer support whenever I needed it. To make the experience even more meaningful, after my journey they sent me the most beautiful charm bracelet with special charms commemorating my surrogacy journey. It was such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift that perfectly captured such an important chapter in my life. Being a surrogate is such a beautiful and meaningful experience, and Carrying Hope made the entire journey even more special. If you're considering becoming a surrogate or are intended parents looking for an agency that genuinely cares, I wholeheartedly recommend Carrying Hope. They truly live up to their name by carrying hope for everyone involved in the journey. 💕

When I decided that I wanted to be a surrogate, I read through the reviews of several agencies and called around to a few. Carrying Hope was the warmest group that I spoke with and every step of the application process was easy and hassle free. Once I signed on with them, they held my hand through every single step and made sure that I was comfortable with everything going on. I never once had an issue with communication or making sure that things got done, they were ALWAYS on top of it and everything was always explained to me. I'm super excited to start another journey with Carrying Hope!

Carrying Hope Surrogacy was one of the best decisions my husband and I made in life. The people that work here are the most amazing, caring, kindhearted and dedicated people we have met. The process as an Intended Parent was completely flawless from beginning to end. You’re never alone in any step. We were matched with the most perfect surrogate that brought our beautiful baby into the world in July 2025. I have to give extra praise to Katie at CHS because she was our rock through this whole process and thank you would never be enough. If you’re looking to either be an intended parent or a gestational carrier, you absolutely will not go wrong here, no matter where you’re located! It will be the best decision you could make!

Carrying Hope is an extremely professional and straightforward surrogacy agency. In what is both a very personal and logistically complex journey, the team at Carrying Hope did exactly what was needed (i.e., a lot of work!) to facilitate the surrogacy process and were never the source of any delay, miscommunication, or mishap. Finally, we're grateful for the excellent surrogate match that they found for us and for the overall role they had in the birth of our daughter.
