Extraordinary Conceptions is a for-profit, full-service surrogacy and egg donation agency, organized as a limited liability company and headquartered in Carlsbad, California. Its work centers on matching egg donors and gestational surrogates with couples and individuals building families, and it coordinates journeys from the initial match through the medical and legal steps that follow. BBB's Pacific Southwest office lists the business as not accredited while showing an A+ rating.
The agency operates internationally, with activity in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom and Colombia, including an office in the Puerto Vallarta area of Mexico. According to its website, a team of more than 30 staff works in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Czech, and the agency says it has helped build families in more than 50 countries. Business management is listed as Mario Caballero, executive director and CEO.
Extraordinary Conceptions works with intended parents who are LGBTQ+, single, or living outside the United States, and it accepts surrogates from outside the US as well. Alongside its US program, the agency maintains a separate hybrid program in Mexico through the Men Having Babies Surrogacy Advisor directory, where it is listed as a provider. In a September 2025 announcement, the agency described a cross-border surrogacy program pairing embryo creation in the United States with partner clinics in Mexico and Colombia. It also says it is affiliated with Men Having Babies and Surrogacy Network.
Because the agency runs its own egg donor program in addition to surrogate matching, intended parents can pursue both parts of a journey through one organization. Extraordinary Conceptions publishes its program fees, and its surrogate requirements, compensation ranges and other details appear in the sections below.

EC was there every step of the way, they are very thorough and accommodating! There are too many kind words to offer, you literally couldn't ask for a better team to be on your side! I would absolutely love to do another journey when I can!
View on Google (opens in a new tab)I am currently going through a surrogacy journey as a surrogate, and I cannot even express how disappointed and frustrated I am with the experience that I am having with this company. I find that things are often not explained. The first couple times that I reached out with concerns they arranged phone calls. During these phone calls, I was reassured that communication and next steps would be improved, but that has never happened. I received very little information on the medication process, including administration. I was in tears trying to search for information online to make sure I didn’t mess anything up. I felt very alone trying to navigate this process and all of its side effects. During the process of insurance enrollment, I became increasingly concerned because I had quite a few people reaching out to me to ask for personal information (DOB, SSN, address, etc.). This was after I thought I was enrolled so I honestly thought I was being scammed, but I didn’t want to miss any deadlines so I was very stressed. I brought this up in my monthly touch base meeting. The counselor reached out to them with that information, and they told the counselor that they would handle it. At that point, I was told that they use a third party and that they have no control over the third party. It made me feel so uncared for. This is my first surrogacy journey, and I feel like they should be able to provide much more information than that, as it is their literal business. I now do not even feel like I can speak to a counselor, even after the first transfer failed, which was very difficult to try to get through on my own. I also struggled to get test results around the times of the transfers, but there was no assistance. There were days that I called the clinic over twenty times to get results. I felt so much pressure in those times, as the intended parent was anxiously awaiting results that I couldn’t obtain. Again, everyone acted like I would have support moving forward, but that did not happen. I ended up in the same situation multiple times. When it came to insurance payments, I enrolled in auto-pay, just to make sure it was paid and to take at least one task off my plate. I was told I was not allowed to do this because I wouldn’t be able to get reimbursed for the payments if the payments automatically came out of my account, but I was never given an actually reason why. Then, they spoke about me in the email chain, as if I still was not on it. At some point, the Surrogacy Coordinator that was working with me left the company. I was not informed of this. That individual continued to contact my personal cell phone, without me knowing that they were no longer with the company. When I figured out that they were no longer an employee, I sent an email doing my best to explain that I was beyond frustrated. That email was sent the end of February. I was offered a phone call, but I stated that I didn’t want a phone call, as they have been so unsuccessful in the past. I still have not been provided any resolution. The new Surrogacy Coordinator started reaching out to me in the same email chain without any acknowledgment to my concerns. I finally asked them to please not reach out any more than necessary due to the poor experience that I am having with them. I never said that I wouldn’t provide what is necessary. I was just trying to limit my own stress, as I have not been feeling well at all. I was told that they will now be getting lawyers involved. Please do not use the agency to become a surrogate. This is a very difficult journey, and explanations/information/education and support are very important. You will not have that with this organization. Update: It had been a month since I posted this review and was told that someone would reach out to me to address my concerns. I still have not received any response to my concerns.
View on Google (opens in a new tab)Working was them was pretty easy (as easy as it can be considering how stressful family planning may be), with Analu being my main coordinator for all egg donor services. She was pretty responsive with my emails and followed up accordingly with the necessary invoices to submit to my insurance company. No issue recommending this agency for future parents.
