Fertility Source Companies is a for-profit, full-service egg donation and gestational surrogacy agency operating under the legal entity The Donor Source International LLC. It works through two consumer-facing divisions: The Donor Source, which handles egg donation, and The Surrogacy Source, which handles gestational surrogacy. Trademark filings show the LLC owns the rights to all three names.
The company is headquartered in Mission Viejo, California, with additional offices in Santa Rosa and San Francisco, California; Northbrook, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts; New York, New York; and Dallas, Texas. It describes itself as a national agency and says it works with LGBTQ+ intended parents, single parents, and intended parents living outside the United States. Surrogates are expected to be U.S. citizens living in an eligible state.
According to the agency, intended parents and surrogates are each assigned a dedicated Director who stays with them through the process, and candidates are screened through background checks, insurance review, psychological evaluation, and registered-nurse review of prior pregnancy records. Because it runs both programs in-house, the agency says intended parents can work with it for an egg donor, a gestational surrogate, or both. Its website also reports agency-supplied figures on babies born, average time to match, and typical journey length.
Leadership includes CEO Donna Raidy and VP of Operations Missi Lockwood. The agency's About page describes Raidy and a former CEO as founding members of SEEDS, the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy, and Lockwood as holding program and conference roles with that organization. Third-party data places staffing at roughly a dozen people. Ownership has remained unchanged in recent years.
The company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and holds an A+ rating. Eligibility requirements for surrogates, compensation figures, and accreditation details appear below.
AI summary of 10 reviews · can make mistakes
Reviews are mixed and split by perspective. Many positive reviews, several apparently from egg donors or others working with the donor program, praise friendly, attentive staff, steady communication and a process that felt easy and efficient. Reviews about the surrogacy side are largely negative, with applicants unhappy about how their applications were declined and one describing the program as stretched thin.

I spent an hour applying to be a surrogate and a few days later I try logging back in because I didn't hear anything and it said my account was suspended. I called to find out why and they said they don't work with people in my state. Surrogacy is legal in my state but they have certain laws that this company doesn't agree with. It would have been nice to get an email or phone call instead of just randomly suspending my account with no explanation, or even better, telling me they don't work with people in my state would be even better so I don't waste my time applying.
View on Google (opens in a new tab)I applied here to be a surrogate and was oddly denied and Denise never told me in detail WHY I was denied besides I wasn't a good fit for surrogacy in her eyes. My Husband and I are financially stable and are at a point in our lives where we would love to help out a couple or individual in need. Anyways, I applied at another surrogate agency and was accepted with flying colors. My Medical Records passed, I passed my Psych test, both of our Criminal Background Checks were passed, everything. I feel like I was discriminated 100% by Denise Payne. I would not recommend this company if you're looking to be a surrogate.
View on Google (opens in a new tab)I’ve been a donor and worked with this company since 2016. I am so impressed with the care and compassion they put into each individual case. I know they are passionate about being able to create families and I am proud to say that I am a part of that process. Thank you so much Donor Source & staff, you’re wonderful.
