The Genesis Group, legally Genesis Egg Donor and Surrogacy Group, Inc., is a for-profit, full-service surrogacy and egg donation agency based in Pasadena, California. California corporate records list the company as an active general corporation with Page Tofighi as director, chief executive officer and chief financial officer.
The agency describes itself as serving intended parents, surrogates and egg donors, and says it coordinates in-state, out-of-state and international egg donor and surrogate cycles. Its programs are open to LGBTQ+ intended parents, single parents and intended parents living outside the United States. Because both surrogacy and egg donation are handled in house, families working with Genesis can arrange a donor cycle and a gestational carrier match through the same organization.
As a full-service agency, Genesis handles the work that surrounds a journey rather than the medical treatment itself, which takes place at a fertility clinic. That typically includes screening and matching, coordination between the parties through the cycle and pregnancy, and support for surrogates alongside intended parents. The agency publishes its fee information, and its program requirements for surrogate applicants \u2014 including age, body mass index, prior pregnancy and smoking criteria \u2014 appear in the eligibility and cost tables further down this page, along with compensation ranges.
Genesis is an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau, accredited since June 2024. The company maintains an active online presence, including its own website with testimonials from surrogates and egg donors who have worked with it.

Reviewers are overwhelmingly positive, with surrogates, egg donors and intended parents often describing attentive, responsive staff who explain each step and offer steady support from intake through delivery or retrieval. Many surrogates say they felt cared for and advocated for, and several returned for repeat journeys or cycles. A few reviewers were critical, mainly about how donor compensation is presented and marketed, and about how donors were treated.

Working with Genesis Egg Donor and Surrogacy Group has been an absolute pleasure. From start to finish, their team takes the extra time to thoroughly explain every step of the process and clearly walk you through all of the services they provide. Jennifer Dominguez, the Donor and Surrogacy Admissions Director, brings nearly two decades of firsthand experience as a five-time surrogate and doula. She is such a kind and sweet person who truly puts women first, combining deep knowledge, compassion, and a commitment to ensuring all parties feel supported, informed, and comfortable with their choices. It was a wonderful experience collaborating with them on our special SoCal Moms Collective event, and I highly recommend their team to anyone looking for dedicated and thoughtful support!

View on Google (opens in a new tab)Their pricing structure and the way they present donor compensation are completely out of control. They imply that young women can make astronomical amounts—which is misleading and, frankly, not ethical ..just to have them in their agency. The reality is that the only ones truly affected by this system are the intended parents, who bear the financial and emotional burden. Egg donation is a deeply human and sensitive process, yet agencies like this risk turning it into a transactional business, causing unnecessary stress and harm to those trying to start a family. I sincerely hope they reconsider how their practices impact real people, because this very personal service deserves fairness, transparency, and genuine care.
View on Google (opens in a new tab)I had a wonderful experience as a first-time donor with The Genesis Group. I was a bit nervous since it was my first time, but the team always quickly responded to my communications, answered any questions that I had, and truly checked in on me every step of the way. I am so grateful for the care and attention that they paid me during this experience, making it positive for me. I traveled from out of town, and they made it a seamless experience. I also had a very positive experience with the clinic that I worked with. A special thank you to my Case Manager Daniela!!!
