The Stork Society, LLC is a for-profit fertility agency based in San Diego, California, working in both gestational surrogacy and egg donation. According to its website, the agency was founded in 2001 and has worked with intended parents in the United States and abroad for more than twenty years. It describes itself as a small boutique agency offering individualized care, in contrast to larger, higher-volume programs, and it appears to operate with a small team.
The agency runs a full-service program, meaning it coordinates a journey from matching through delivery rather than handling only one piece of the process. Its services cover nationwide egg donation and gestational surrogacy, and it works with international intended parents as well as families within the U.S. Surrogates are recruited from across the country, though the agency says it does not accept applicants residing in a set of states including Alaska, Arizona, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia and Wyoming.
The Stork Society publishes its fees, and its surrogate eligibility criteria and compensation range are detailed in the tables further down this page. The agency is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau; its BBB file for the San Diego area was opened in 2007 and carries an A+ rating.
