About The Surrogacy Source

The Surrogacy Source is the surrogacy division of Fertility Source Companies, a for-profit organization that operates under the legal name The Donor Source International, LLC. Its companion division, The Donor Source, runs the egg donation side of the business, so intended parents working with third-party reproduction can arrange surrogacy and donor services through the same organization. The agency says it has been matching intended parents with gestational surrogates since 2003.

The company works from offices in California, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York, and describes itself as a full-service agency: it matches intended parents with gestational carriers and coordinates the steps of a journey from that point forward, alongside its egg donor program. Donna Raidy serves as chief executive officer, a role she moved into from chief operating officer and vice president of operations after the previous CEO retired at the end of 2017; Missi Lockwood is vice president of operations. The staff is small, estimated at around a dozen people.

According to the agency, its programs serve LGBTQ+ intended parents, single parents and intended parents living outside the United States. Surrogates, by contrast, are expected to be U.S. citizens living in one of the states the program works in, and to have carried at least one pregnancy and be raising a child at home. The agency publishes its fees, and its eligibility requirements, surrogate compensation range and other program details appear in the tables below.

The Surrogacy Source publishes refund terms through the Men Having Babies Surrogacy Advisor listing: a surrogacy waitlist deposit is refundable after twelve months if no suitable match has been presented, and the fee is fully earned once a gestational surrogate has been chosen. On the egg donation side, the agency offers re-matching rather than refunds in specified circumstances.

The business is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, which has rated it A+ since accreditation in March 2025. It remains independently owned, with no parent company or outside acquirer.
